Cisco invests in community platforms
Cisco Systems acquires the small California company Five Across, which specializes in community platforms or "social networking" like MySpace.
Five Across The solution, called "Connect Community Builder", can be integrated to a website generated content their visitors post and share audio, video, photos, create blogs, podcasts and profiles 'to MySpace users, Cisco says. Enough to create a complete community around a brand or product.
 "With the acquisition of Five Across, Cisco is a step forward to help clients improve their website by making the visit more relevant and rewarding for the end user Â" says the OEM.
Created in 2003 in San Francisco, Five Across employs eleven people. The amount of the transaction, which must be sealed before next August, has not been sent.
