Apple defies all browsers with Safari 4

Apple has released on February 24 the new version of its Safari 4 web browser. This version 4, still in Beta, is not an upgrade from the previous version brings several new features, but estimated at 150 according to Apple.

Building on the SunSpider tests and iBench, a score of 100 out of 100 at the famous Acid3 test, which remains the reference regarding compliance with W3C standards, Apple claims that its browser Safari 4 is the best browser in the world by defying Following Internet Explorer and Firefox 3. The editor points out that the actual performance of Safari 4 depend mainly on the system configuration, network connection and other issues.

Apple has not announced a release date of the final version of Safari 4, but says its browser runs JavaScript up to 30 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and more than three times faster than Firefox 3 and adds that its new product supports HTML web pages faster than Internet Explorer and Firefox 3 with a factor of 3.

Safari 4 also comes with an RSS reader quite interesting, easy to use and good design, it offers the possibility to control the length of the displayed items, sort the items according to various criteria, send the news by mail ... etc.

As usual, Apple takes advantage of the facility to install Safari with the famous "Hello" but offers the possibility to uncheck the box for installing the service, however, a problem can be ¯ apparaà during installation, with "Hello" checked, we can continue the installation but if you decide to cancel the process, Apple installs anyway "Hello" and then cancels the installation of the browser!
